A THIEF woke up a resident in the early hours of the morning after breaking into a home and stealing cash.

The burglar was only spotted cycling off from the home in Sunbeam Way, Gosport at 4.10am on Friday, March 22.

A miniature wine bottle holder with an old map of the world on its lid, along with cash and a brown leather wallet from inside were stolen.

The sleeping occupant was woken after hearing a noise downstairs and looked out to see the thief, who was wearing a light coloured hooded top.

PC Sam Gee from the Fareham and Gosport Priority Crime team said: ‘Were you in the area at the time and did you see anyone suspicious?

‘Do you have any information about the stolen property?’

Anyone with information should call PC Gee on 101 or call the Crimestoppers charity anonymously on 0800 555 111.
