Residents in '˜shock' as '˜unusual' incident closes multistorey car park
Police and paramedics were called to Osborn Road just before 7am after concern was raised about a person’s welfare.
Officers put up a cordon around the nearby multistorey car park – while Fareham Borough Council (FBC) closed the road off between Osborn Road South and the High Street.

Passing by the scene, residents said it was a ‘shock’ to see a police presence in the area.
Gareth Peters, 53, said: ‘Given the taping and this heightened response I would imagine somebody has come to grief.
‘It’s quite unusual for the car park to be closed – normally you never hear of any issues here.

Jim Bain, 65, added: ‘This is a shock, it’s not the sort of thing you associate with Fareham.
‘I certainly wouldn’t want to hear of anybody getting hurt – but I can only assume there’s been an incident in the car park and the police have acted accordingly.
‘I hope it resolves itself in a positive way.’
While police have not disclosed specific details about the incident, a spokeswoman said earlier this morning: ‘We were called just before 7am regarding a concern for welfare in Osborn Road, Fareham.
‘We are currently at the scene along with colleagues from South Central Ambulance Service.’
