NEARLY 200 motorcyclists were stopped by police in a week of action.

Hampshire police said they were stopped to report them for offences, or as they had been involved in a crash.

Fratton Roads Policing officers stopped 78 of the riders last week.

In total, 16 of the 182 had been in a crash, 11 per cent were speeding, 66 per cent had a bike over 125cc in size, five per cent were caught riding carelessly and 48 per cent were given advice but committed no offence. Sergeant Rob Heard said: ‘We are asking riders and motorists to look out for each other.’
