A RIGID inflatable boat was stolen from a field near Chichester.

Police are appealing for information after the vessel was taken between 6pm on Wednesday, May 9 and 8am on Thursday, May 18.

The 28ft, faded yellow and black boat was inside a secure field in Highleigh Road, Highleigh, near Sidlesham.

It has a two-stroke engine mounted on the back and was on a virtually new trailer with a wheel clamp, a tow hitch lock and an engine lock on. It has a big stainless frame over the engine, a central console and two rear forward-facing double seats on either side.

Sergeant Alan Fenn said: ‘Somebody must have seen it being towed.

‘We are also appealing for anyone who sees any unusual loads on local roads during hours of darkness to make a note of the vehicle details and report it.’
