POLICE have launched an investigation after a man stole a woman’s purse shortly after she had visited a cashpoint.
Hampshire Constabulary released the above image of a man and a woman they want to talk to in connection with the robbery, that took place on Thursday. Police released details of the incident today.
The victim was grabbed by a man from behind as she was entering her flat in St James’s Road, Southsea, at around 8.50pm.
After searching her pockets the man stole a purse containing £15 in cash, before running off.
Investigating Officer PC David Lynn said: ‘The victim had been to a cashpoint machine earlier, before popping into the local Co-op stores and then making her way home.
‘While this is an isolated incident, we would advise anyone using an ATM to be aware of anyone who may be paying them particular attention.
‘If you can assist with identifying these individuals or saw anyone acting suspiciously in the area please contact Fratton DCID on 101 quoting ref 44150042082.’
