FOUR people were threatened with a pair of scissors during an attempted robbery.

Three women and a man were near the pedestrian crossing next to Ladbrokes in Lake Road, Landport, when they were approached by two men they did not know.

One of the men used a pair of scissors to threaten the group. None of the four was carrying cash.

One of the group, a 21-year-old woman from Portsmouth, gave around £2.50 in change from her purse to the robbers, who then left them and headed off towards Buckingham Green.

None of the group was assaulted or injured during the robbery, which took place at around 4.30am on Sunday.

The first suspect was described as white, aged in his 20s, 6ft tall, of slim build and was wearing a hooded top with a black and white scarf across his face.

The second suspect was also white and aged in his 20s, about 5ft 10in tall, of chubby build and was wearing a grey hooded top.
