Robbery arrest as man, 38, injured after being attacked by two men in Southsea street

Two men assaulted a robbery victim leaving him with an injured arm, police have said.

Hampshire police were in The Retreat, Southsea, at 1pm yesterday when they found a 38-year-old man injured.

He said he had been assaulted by two men.

The injured man was taken to Queen Alexandra Hospital in Cosham but was later discharged.

Police arrested a 42-year-old man, from Portsmouth, on suspicion of robbery and having a class A drug.

A police spokeswoman said: ‘He has been released from custody but remains under investigation while our enquiries continue.’
