POLICE are trying to trace the rightful owners of a stolen sat nav.

Officers recovered the Tom Tom sat nav in Southampton Road, Portsmouth, near Port Solent, and are now trying to find out who owns it.

An 18-year-old man from Portsmouth has been arrested on suspicion of stealing the device from a vehicle.

He was due to answer bail today.

PC David Shaw is investigating the incident.

He said: ‘I would urge anyone who owns a Tom Tom sat nav to check that they still have it, as they may not have noticed that it is missing.’

The sat nav was recovered on September 13.

Anyone who believes the sat nav is theirs is asked to contact PC Shaw at Southsea police station on 101, or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
