A SAILOR in the Saudi Arabian Navy appeared at Portsmouth Magistrates’ Court yesterday, charged with drink-driving.

Sami Albargi, who is based at HMS Collingwood in Fareham, was arrested in Twyford Avenue, Portsmouth, on April 20.

The court heard he had been driving back from a nightclub, but had pulled over when he realised he was too drunk to drive.

Officers found he had 58mg of alcohol in 100ml of breath. The legal limit is 35mg/100ml.

Albargi was disqualified for 12 months, and fined a total of £415 by magistrates.
