A MAN who indecently touched a 13-year-old girl is wanted by police.

The schoolgirl was walking across Buckingham Green off Westminster Place in Buckland when the incident happened.

Two men who were sat under a tree drinking vodka started shouting at her at about 7.30am on Monday,

One of them approached her and touched her inappropriately.

The victim then ran off.

Police have stepped up patrols in the area in the wake of the crime.

PC Marie Maskell from Portsmouth’s Targeted Patrol Team said: ‘There weren’t a lot of people around at the time, but I’m hoping someone in the homes nearby may have seen something or recognises the description of the men.

‘The girl’s clearly upset at what’s happened and our officers from the Nelson Safer Neighbourhoods Team have been patrolling the Buckingham Green area every morning this week to offer reassurance to residents and keep an eye out for the offenders. ‘

Both men are described as white and aged in their 30s.

The one who remained sat down was wearing a plain grey hooded top. The main offender was wearing a plain black hooded top and tracksuit bottoms, white trainers and carrying a bottle of vodka.

Anyone with information is asked to contact PC Maskell at Cosham police station on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
