Second '˜mutilated' cat found in Portsmouth

A second cat has been found '˜mutilated' in Portsmouth just days after another was found dead.

The South Norwood Animal Rescue and Liberty organisation received notification a cat was found in an alleyway between Jubilee Road and Francis Avenue in Southsea.

It comes after another cat was found dead on Sunday at St James' Hospital with injuries similar to that of those thought to have been killed by the notorious UK animal killer.

A Hampshire police spokesman said: '˜We received a report at 1.15pm on August 29 that a mutilated cat had been found in an alleyway between Jubilee Road and Francis Avenue.

'˜The person who found the cat reported it to Snarl.

'˜The cat's owner has not been identified at this time.

'˜Neighbourhood officers have been made aware.'
