EMERGENCY crews are attending an ongoing incident in the city this evening – with police attempting to calm tensions by saying it is an ‘isolated incident’.

A serious incident has taken place in the city this evening as a convoy of police, firefighters and paramedics raced to Museum Road.

Police have set up a cordon in the road.

An incident response unit is also at the scene as police search the area.

With rumours spreading on social media, police have urged the public to ‘refrain from speculating’ what has happened.

‘We are currently on the scene of an incident on Museum Road and want to reassure residents that at this stage this appears to be an isolated incident with no wider risk to the community,’ a post on social media said.
