John Swift was given the curfew after stealing £150 worth of goods, including a diary and a personal organiser from WHSmith in Palmerston Road, Southsea, on October 26.

Swift, of Waverley Road, Southsea, pleaded guilty to theft when he appeared at Portsmouth Magistrates’ Court.

The 30-year-old will have to wear an electronic tag and stay at home between 7pm and 7am every day for 142 days.
