A SOLICITOR will appear in court accused of stealing money from a family’s estate.

Emma Coates, 45, of West Street, Selsey, was charged with fraud by abuse of position.

Police were contacted last year with a complaint about the way a Selsey legal firm, Coates and Co, was handling the distribution of a Middlesex woman’s estate after her death.

The allegation involves the misappropriation of £85,000 from the estate. Coates was bailed to appear at City of London Magistrates’ Court on March 26.
