DRINK-DRIVER Valerijs Borovkovs has been banned from the road.

The 34-year-old was stopped by the police driving in Eastern Road, Portsmouth.

He was taken to Portsmouth central police station where a blood test revealed he had 121 milligrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood. The legal limit is 80ml.

Borovkovs, of Winter Road, Southsea, pleaded guilty to drink-driving when he appeared at Portsmouth Magistrates’ Court.

He was banned from driving for a year and fined £290 with £100 in costs.
