A 56-YEAR-OLD man has admitted downloading indecent images of children from the internet.

Kenneth Parker was arrested after police found more than 3,000 depraved photographs of children at his flat in Florence Road, Southsea.

Parker, who has since moved to Beach Road, Southsea, also had photographs of extreme pornography.

He pleaded guilty to 10 counts of making an indecent photograph of a child, one of possessing 3,163 indecent images of children and three of possessing extreme pornography when he appeared at Portsmouth Magistrates’ Court.

The court heard he used his computer to look at the images between April and July last year.

The magistrates ruled that the charges are so serious Parker should be sentenced at the crown court, where the judges can hand down tougher sentences.

They adjourned the case to allow the probation service time to carry out a pre-sentence report which will consider how best to sentence him. He was released on bail to appear at Portsmouth Crown Court next month.
