A MAN has denied a string of offences after police allegedly uncovered almost 1,500 indecent photographs of children on his computer.

Gregory Gay is charged with 11 counts of making an indecent image of a child.

Police allegedly found just under 1,500 photographs of children when they searched his home in Devonshire Avenue, Southsea.

He is alleged to have downloaded the photos from the internet.

The offences are said to have taken place between September 2008 and April 2010.

The 36-year-old pleaded not guilty to the charges when he appeared at Portsmouth Crown Court.

Gay was released on bail to stand trial in May.
