Southsea van driver '˜approached youngsters with a power drill', say police

POLICE officers have conducted enquiries after reports of a van driver approaching a group of youngsters with a power drill on Halloween.

Police reports claim that the van driver got out of his vehicle in Hollam Road, Southsea, at 7.50pm last night.

It is believed that the young people had been throwing stones at the van.

A spokesman from Hampshire Constabulary said: '˜We received a report at 7.50pm last night that a group of youths had thrown objects at a van in Hollam Road, Southsea.

'˜It was reported that the driver got out of the van and was carrying what has been described as a power drill.

'˜The group then left the area.

'˜Officers conducted enquiries in the area but did not locate the group or the van.'
