SERIAL shoplifter Elina Meinerte has been given a conditional discharge.

Meinerte pleaded guilty to four thefts in the same shopping area between April and September – two at the same store.

The 28-year-old, of Londesborough Road, Southsea, admitted stealing £44.50 of clothes from Marks & Spencer in Commercial Road, Landport, Portsmouth, on September 29.

She stole aftershave worth £37 from Debenhams, also in Commercial Road, on the same day.

On April 4, she fled Wilkinsons in Arundel Street, Landport, with food and a carrier bag worth £6.10. Two days earlier she had targeted Debenhams in Commercial Road, stealing two tops worth £31.60.

Meinerte was given a 12-month conditional discharge by Portsmouth magistrates.
