A WOMAN who assaulted a police officer has been told to do unpaid work.

Samantha Gash pleaded guilty to committing the crime in Wisborough Road, Southsea, on May 29.

The 20-year-old was ordered to do 140 hours of unpaid work in the next year by Portsmouth magistrates.

Gash, of Wisborough Road, Southsea, was also ordered to pay £50 compensation.

No order for costs was made.
