MOTORIST Kirstie Higgins was caught driving while more than twice the legal alcohol limit.

Higgins, 40, of Landguard Road, Southsea, admitted driving a Peugeot 307 in Albany Road, Southsea, while over the limit on May 21.

A test revealed her breath contained 75 microgrammes of alcohol per 100 millilitres. The legal limit is 35mg.

Higgins was banned from driving for 20 months, fined £575 and told to pay £85 costs and £15 to a fund for crime victims by Portsmouth magistrates.

The ban could be cut by five months if she pays to complete a government-approved driving course.
