Detectives are appealing for witnesses after four burglaries and an attempted burglary in the Highlands Road area of Fareham.

The burglaries occurred during the afternoon and early evening of Saturday, November 22.

Between 3.15pm and 8.15pm entry was forced into one house on Friars Pond Road in Catisfield and an attempt was made to gain entry to another home.

Between 11am and 6.30pm two homes were broken into on East Lodge in Catisfield.

A house on Argyle Crescent in the Frosthole Crescent area was entered between 11.30am and 7.30pm. A safe contain jewellery, passports and cash was stolen.

Detective Constable Heather Hudson from Fareham CID said: ‘Full details of what was stolen are unknown at this time but it is thought the offenders were targeting cash and jewellery.

‘If you saw anything suspicious in the area I would urge you to contact police as it may help us to find those responsible.

‘Please visit the crime prevention section of the Hampshire Constabulary website for information on how you can protect your homes during the short winter days.’
