QUICK-thinking staff at a kebab shop caught this image of a man police want to talk to in connection with an assault.

The suspect began banging at the window of Ali’s Kebab shop in Highlands Road, Fareham, at midnight on Friday, April 29.

When he was asked to leave because the shop was closed he kicked the window, causing it to break.

A member of staff left the shop to confront the man who threw a punch, hitting him on the left shoulder, but did not cause any injury.

The member of staff took a photo of the suspect, before the man ran off along Highlands Road and up Hillson Drive.

The suspect is described as white, between 20 and 25, 6ft, of medium build with short black hair and a fair complexion. He wore a black T-shirt and dark trousers.

Police want to talk to him in connection with the assault and criminal damage. PC Jon Coolahan said: ‘This is a mindless act of damage and assault and we are keen to track down the man responsible.

‘We would ask that members of the public look at the image taken of him and get in touch if they know who he is.’
