UPDATE: Arrests made after suspected kidnapping attempt in Southsea

Have your say

VANDALS have smashed windows of five cars in less than 12 hours, possibly firing stones from a catapult while driving past.

The cars parked on Coppice Hill and Winchester Road in Bishops Waltham were targeted between 9pm on Saturday, March 23 and 8.30am on Sunday, March 24.

Police have only now released details of the crimes.

Officers say although various windows were smashed, nothing was stolen from the vehicles.

PC Lisa Robins said: ‘These were mindless acts of criminal damage which have caused upset and inconvenience to the victims.

‘One of the victims had the same window of their vehicle smashed on February 21 so it is possible the same people are responsible.

‘The streets would have been dark and quiet at the time of the incident.

‘However, there is a chance someone may have seen or heard something related to these incidents.

‘There is a possibility that the offenders used a vehicle to drive past the targeted cars and then threw stones or used a catapult to fire stones at the windows.’

Call PC Robins at North Walls police station on 101.
