THIS woman is wanted on suspicion of snatching a purse from a 77-year-old woman and spending her cash.

The victim was in West Street, Fareham, when her pink leather purse containing about £10 cash, a credit card and various shop loyalty cards was stolen from her bag.

The suspect, pictured on a CCTV camera, then used the credit card to withdraw £300 from a cashpoint at the nearby BP garage.

The Fareham victim’s credit card was then used again at Argos in Commercial Road, Portsmouth on the same day where the thief bought goods worth £532.47. On that occasion she was accompanied by a man.

PC Tara Magnus said: ‘Investigations are ongoing into several purse thefts recently. It remains a high priority for the town centre team to ensure the safety of visitors while shopping in the town. Regular high visibility patrols are conducted and lanyards are issued.’

The theft happened between 12.30pm and 1.30pm on June 4. Police have only just released details.

The suspect is white, of a lard build, with blonde, wavy hair. She wore a long white T-shirt, black leggings and sunglasses,
