THIS CCTV image has been released by police looking for a charity tin thief.

It comes after the tin was stolen from Sainsbury’s petrol station in Fitzherbert Road, Farlington.

Crimestoppers is running the appeal.

A statement said a man walked in, paid in cash for petrol and left but came back in asking for cigarettes.

It added: ‘As the assistant turned her back to get the cigarettes, the man was seen on CCTV to pick up the charity tub and put it under his jacket.

‘He then calmly paid for the cigarettes and walked out, getting into a car driven by a woman.

‘The cashier then noticed the missing charity collection and checked the CCTV.’
