A MAN who was found carrying a knife in public has been told to pay £350.

Gordon Chance was arrested in Cosham High Street in connection with a shoplifting offence.

The theft allegation was later withdrawn but when police searched the 55-year-old they found a flick-knife.

Chance, of Kirby Road, North End, admitted possessing an offensive weapon when he appeared at Portsmouth Magistrates’ Court.
