THIEF Marcus Keady has been spared jail.

Keady, 30, of no fixed abode, pleaded guilty to stealing seven jars of coffee worth £63.08 from Tesco Express in Forton Road, Gosport.

He was sentenced to two months in jail suspended for nine months by Portsmouth magistrates.

Magistrates said his case was ‘significantly aggravated’ by previous convictions Keady has for similar offences.

He was ordered to pay £80 to a fund for victims of crime. However no order was made for costs or compensation.
