Teenage girl arrested after fights breaks out leaving member of public being assaulted

A TEENAGE girl was arrested after a fight broke out amongst a group of young people on Friday night that resulted in a member of the public being assaulted.

Sussex Police said officers were called to Kingfisher Parade, East Wittering, at 7.10pm where a member of the public, who had tried to intervene, was assaulted before damage was caused to a vehicle.

A spokesman added: ‘Officers attended and the group dispersed.

‘A 16-year-old girl was arrested on suspicion of assault and criminal damage. She has been released under investigation.

‘Enquiries are ongoing to identify others involved in the altercation.’
