Teenage motorcyclist suffers head injury after falling off bike

The 18-year-old was in Gosport Road, Fareham, just south of the Saltern Lane traffic lights on Sunday night at 10.35pm.

A red van, similar in size to a Volkswagen Transporter, reversed out a driveway and into the road.

The motorcyclist then fell off, Hampshire police said.

A spokesman added it was not clear if there was any contact between the vehicles.

He was taken to Queen Alexandra Hospital in Cosham and was treated for a minor head injury.

Police said the driver of the van is helping officers with enquiries.

But officers want to speak to any witnesses.
