A YOUNG man punched a robber who tried to take his mobile phone.

The 18-year-old was walking in Wych Lane, Bridgemary, Gosport, when he was approached by two men.

One asked the victim for a cigarette and the teenager agreed to roll one.

The victim was listening to music on his iPhone and took it out his pocket – one of the suspects went to grab it and the victim moved out the way.

One man then swung at him but missed – the victim then punched him in self-defence.

The first suspect was around 19, 5ft 6ins to 5ft 8ins tall and was broad and stocky. He had a skull tattoo on his left collar bone, short black hair and had a side parting.

He was wearing grey Nike tracksuit bottoms and a Nike jumper.

The second man was skinny, around the same age and height, and had a full black beard. He was wearing a grey Nike hooded tracksuit with the hood up.

It happened near Bridgemary School at 12.45pm on Wednesday.

Hampshire are now appealing for help. No arrests have been made.
