Teenager, 18, charged in Portsmouth rape investigation due at Portsmouth Magistrates' Court

A TEENAGER has been charged following an investigation into the rape of a 19-year-old woman in Buckland.

Abdelarahman Saleh Adam, 18, of Gathorne Road in London, was due at Portsmouth Magistrates' Court this morning.

It comes after police were called to Turner Road, Buckland, just before 1am on September 20.

Eight people were arrested during the investigation.

Two 18-year-old men, two 17-year-old boys, and a 16-year-old boy, were held on September 20.

A 17 year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of rape on September 21.

Those five men and boys were released without charge and will face no further action.

But police said two more people were arrested this week on Wednesday.

One of them, a 17 year-old boy from Portsmouth who was arrested on suspicion of rape, was bailed until October 28.

Adam, due in court today, was the eighth person arrested. He was arrested on Wednesday.
