Teenager arrested on suspicion of murder in connection with Fareham investigation

A TEENAGER has been arrested on suspicion of murder in connection with a Fareham murder investigation. 

Police investigating the murder of 29-year-old Michael Deary at Omaha Close in Fareham have arrested a 17-year-old from Gosport.

Michael’s body was found in his flat in Omaha Close at about 12.40pm on Monday after officers were called over a concern for welfare.

Det Supt Scott Clarke said: ‘We’d like to thank the community for all of their support so far, particularly the residents of Omaha Close.

‘We’re continuing to speak to people who knew Michael or lived nearby to understand his activity towards the end of last week.’

The 17-year-old is in custody.

Fareham District Chief Inspector Sharon Woolrich said: ‘We understand that this is concerning for some of our residents.

‘We’ve been visiting people living in Omaha Close with the housing provider to make sure we address any specific concerns in partnership.
