A TEENAGER damaged two cars in a rage then called the police to tell them what he had done.

Lewis Pink left the accommodation he was staying at in Middle Park Way, Havant, after a row with fellow residents.

He ran outside and attacked two Peugeots parked nearby.

Not only did the 18-year-old then call the police but he took the officers to the parked cars and showed them what he had done, Portsmouth Magistrates’ Court heard.

Gaylene Coles, defending, said: ‘It’s unusual for us to see someone so honest who causes damage and then calls the police, gets into a police car and directs them to where the cars are.

‘He apologises for the damage he has caused.’

She said Pink had had a few drinks when he got into a row with fellow residents.

‘Rather than take his anger out on them he ran out into the street and did some damage to the cars,’ Ms Coles said.

Pink, of Middle Park Way, Havant, pleaded guilty to two counts of criminal damage.

The magistrates handed him a six-month conditional discharge but made no order for compensation because Pink has no money.
