An 18-year-old woman has been indecently assaulted in Portsmouth.

Police revealed today that she was attacked as she walked west along Southampton Road in Paulsgrove at around 6.30pm on Saturday, August 17, 2013.

A Hampshire Constabulary spokesman said: ‘As she headed towards a bus stop on the north side of Southampton Road near the Allaway Avenue junction, a man approached her.

‘He indecently assaulted her before she pushed him away. The man then ran away towards the centre of Cosham. The woman was not injured.’

The suspect was described as white and aged in his 40s or 50s. He is of medium build with a beer belly and approximately 5 ft 7 ins to 5 ft 9 ins tall with short black and grey hair.

The police spokesman added: ‘Witnesses or anyone with information are asked to contact PC Charlotte Pocock at Fratton Police Station by phoning 101.

‘The Mini-com number, which is used by deaf and hard of hearing callers, has changed to Minicom TextRelay 18001 101.

‘Alternatively, call the independent Crimestoppers charity on 0800 555 111 if you wish to remain anonymous.’
