A SHOP owner has spoken of his shock after he watched a teenager get beaten up.

Dan Davies was working in Tan & Envy, in High Street, Cosham, when he suddenly saw a group of youths attack someone.

They pinned him up against the shop’s window and punched him before slamming him into the glass.

It caused the pane to crack and the boy was left covered in blood.

Afterwards Mr Davies took him in and cleaned him up before he left. Police were called to the incident at 7.25pm on Thursday but by the time they arrived everyone had got away.

Members of the public told residents they saw teenagers running up High Street afterwards. Mr Davies, 26, said it would probably cost about £600 to get his window replaced.

‘They had someone pinned up against the window and they were punching him and throwing him into it,’ he said.

‘I asked him to come in and I cleaned him up a bit. He was bleeding quite heavily from his nose.’

A smashed bottle of WKD alcohol was left on the floor.

A Hampshire Constabulary spokesman said: ‘We were called to a report of eight youths fighting.

‘There was no sign of any fighting taking place.’
