A YOUNG girl was grabbed by man in an attempted robbery.

The 17-year-old was walking her springer spaniel in the Twyford Drive area of Lee-on-the-Solent when she saw a boy and a man on bikes at the Co-op.

Both started to follow her as she walked along Common Barn Lane on Friday.

It was then one of the two, a man aged about 19, cycled up to her, pushed her and grabbed her handbag. The girl kept hold of the bag and the man cycled off.

It happened between 5pm and 5.30pm. The 19-year-old was white, around 5ft 9ins tall, had light brown slicked-back hair that looked shiny with hair product. He wore a navy blue hoodie.

The boy, aged about 15, had long floppy brown hair and was wearing clothing brighter than the other suspect. He was riding a BMX. Police say it was an isolated incident. Call 101.
