A MAN arrested on suspicion of a rape in Gunwharf Quays has been released without charge.

Hampshire police released the 19-year-old and are taking no further action, after an 18-year-old woman retracted her allegations of a sexual offence. As reported, the man was arrested at 9.45am on February 21 after the then-alleged incident was reported at 2am.

An area behind the Vans shop was cordoned off by police and forensics officers were there until around 1pm. In a statement, Hampshire police said: ‘We are not looking for anyone else in connection with this incident.’
