A MAN who sexually assaulted a 16-year-old boy is being hunted by police.

Officers are appealing for information after the teenager was groped in the car park of the Aldi supermarket, in Gamble Road, Portsmouth.

The incident took place at around 4.30pm on Monday.

A man approached the boy and engaged him in conversation in the supermarket car park.

They then went to sit on a wall together inside the car park.

Police say the conversation became sexual in nature and the man touched the boy inappropriately over his clothing.

The suspect is described as being in his mid thirties, of Asian appearance, and is believed to be around 5ft 6ins in height.

At the time of the incident he was wearing black trousers with a white pinstripe, a red T-shirt with a collar and a black waterproof coat.

Detective Constable Craig Turner of Portsmouth CID said anyone with information about the crime should come forward.

He said: ‘This was at a busy time of day and the victim and offender may have been seen sitting on a wall near the car park.

‘We are keen to speak to anyone who may be able to help us identify the offender.’
