A THIEF who stole washing detergent and air fresheners from Wilkinson has been spared jail.

Charlotte Adams, 25, of Derby Road, North End, Portsmouth, struck at the store in Fareham. She committed the offence on February 1.

She also admitted stealing a purse worth £16.99 from nearby TK Maxx on the same day.

Adams, who pleaded guilty at Portsmouth Magistrates’ Court, was handed two concurrent 28-day terms suspended for six months.

She must pay an £80 victim surcharge and £85 costs.

She was ordered to be detained but that was deemed served.
