THIEF Stuart McKenzie has been given a conditional discharge.

McKenzie, from Montague Road, North End, Portsmouth, pleaded guilty to stealing a £64.99 garden strimmer from Argos in Commercial Road, Landport, Portsmouth.

He was given a six-month conditional discharge.

The 33-year-old also pleaded guilty to committing the offence while subject to a 12-month conditional discharge for shoplifting.

However Portsmouth magistrates decided to impose no separate penalty.
