BIKE thief Liam Whittaker has been ordered to do unpaid work.

Whittaker, from Palmerston Road, Southsea, pleaded guilty to stealing a bike from Charles Street in Landport, Portsmouth, on September 3.

The 21-year-old also admitted failing to surrender to custody.

He was ordered to carry out 200 hours of unpaid work and told to pay £100 compensation and a £60 victim surcharge by Portsmouth magistrates.
