A JUDGE ordered a man who stole a moped to get help for his drink problem.

Adam Andrews took the Vespa moped from Albert Road, Southsea.

Andrews, of Chewter Close, Southsea, admitted taking a vehicle without consent when he appeared at Portsmouth Magistrates’ Court. The 28-year-old also admitted criminal damage and possession of a knife in public.

The district judge told Andrews to attend alcohol counselling and have a year of supervision from the probation service to help him keep out of trouble. He was told to pay £200 in costs.
