A THIEF with 49 previous convictions has been jailed.

Philip Palmer, of Gosport Road, Fareham, admitted stealing a wallet containing £15, a driving licence, NHS card and bank cards from a man in Fareham. He also admitted stealing a £10 note from another man in Fareham and to stealing a wallet containing loyalty cards from another victim in Gosport.

The crimes were committed between February 3 and February 6.

The 28-year-old was sentenced to five months in prison at Portsmouth Magistrates’ Court.
