A THIEF stole jewellery from a pensioner’s house.

A man in his 60s came home from work to discover a gold sovereign coin, pearl and gold bracelet, pearl necklaces and earrings were missing.

Police say the house, in Stubbington Lane, Stubbington, had been searched and a windowpane was smashed. The burglary took place between 8am and 1pm on Friday.

Investigating officer Detective Constable Dermot McBride, from the Priority Crime Team at Fareham police station, said: ‘I would appeal for anyone who saw anything suspicious, perhaps a vehicle or a person loitering around the area, to contact police.’

Witness should call police on 101.
