A THIEF who stole from seven shops in one day has been given a community order.

Lucy Aston, of Rydal Close in Portsmouth, admitted seven counts of theft on December 18 when she appeared at Fareham Magistrates’ Court.

The 22-year-old stole goods worth £274 from Boots, £18 from BHS, £28 from HMV, £10 from Poundland, £30 from Peacocks, £3.96 from 99p Stores, and £30 from Giggle, all in Fareham town centre. Magistrates gave her a 12-month community order with requirements to attend a women’s programme and attend appointments with a supervising officer.

She was also ordered to pay a £60 victim surcharge.
