SHOPLIFTER Mark Mckay has been jailed for four months.

The 36-year-old, of no fixed address, carried out a string of thefts from shops in Portsmouth, including various Co-op stores, Boots and Debenhams.

He pleaded guilty to six counts of theft when he appeared at Portsmouth Magistrates’ Court.

Simon Moger, defending, said he had stolen to feed his drug habit.

Mr Moger said Mckay had managed to stop taking drugs but had relapsed.

The court heard he has a history of similar offences.
