SERIAL thief Amy Carter has been jailed.

The 31-year-old admitted stealing from five shops between March 5 and 19 while subject to a suspended sentence for theft. She stole £181 of clothing from Matalan in Portsmouth, £265 of goods from Asda at The Bridge Centre in Fratton, £15 of air fresheners from a Co-op in Emsworth High Street and £55.16 of goods from Tesco in Emsworth. Carter, of Emsworth Road, Southampton, also fled a Co-op in Westbourne, West Sussex, with £50 of food.

She was jailed for 203 days by Portsmouth magistrates.
