Thieves go on £6,000 spending spree in Portsmouth after stealing bank card from Gunwharf Quays

Police have launched a CCTV appeal after a stolen bank card was used for a £6,000 spending spree around Portsmouth.

Thieves pinched the card from its owner in Gunwharf Quays in the early hours of Saturday, August 18. 

The bank card was then used in a £6,000 spending spree across the city.

A Hampshire Constabulary spokesperson said: '˜Do you recognise these two people?

'˜We'd like to speak to them as part of an investigation into the suspected theft of a bank card which took place in Gunwharf Quays, in the early hours of Saturday 18 August.

'˜The card was then used to make various transactions across Portsmouth amounting to approximately £6,000.

'˜If you recognise these people, or have any information to assist our enquiries, please call police on 101, quoting 44180313942.

'˜Alternatively, call the charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.'Â
