HUNDREDS of litres of diesel have been stolen in the past week.
Police are warning the public to be vigilant and report any sightings of people acting suspiciously following the dramatic increase.
The first took place between 8pm on August 26 and 6am the following day at Main Road, Bosham, when around 200 litres of diesel was stolen from a tractor.
The second took place between Friday, August 26 and Tuesday, in High Street, Bosham, when approximately 40 to 60 litres of red diesel was stolen from a crane.
The third took place between 6.30pm on Tuesday and midday on Wednesday when diesel was syphoned off from two combine harvesters, also in High Street, Bosham.
PC Lucy Banks, from Chichester police, said: ‘These thieves are costing the public a lot of money, taking hundreds of litres of diesel at a time without a care in the world.
